For Theater Projects

Devra Thomas helps artists of all genres get their work started and in front of an audience once it’s done. She is the former Executive Director of Common Ground Theater (Durham) and Theater Manager at Deep Dish Theater (Chapel Hill). Recent production credits are: King Lear for South Stream (props), Morning After Grace for Raleigh Little Theater (props), and Appropriate at NRACT (set dressing). She produced the critically acclaimed Changing Same: The Cold-Blooded Murder of Booker T. Spicely (Mike Wiley Productions, StreetSigns Center, & Kenan Institute for Ethics). Over the past twenty years, she has produced or supported close to a hundred theatrical works across North Carolina, and currently serves on the Advisory Board to RedBird Theater (Durham). She helps connect readers with North Carolina authors via her work at the North Carolina Literary Review. Devra holds a Masters in Arts Administration from Goucher College. For Writing Related Projects

Devra Thomas is the Digital Editor for the North Carolina Literary Review, where she handles marketing and event planning in support of preserving and promoting North Carolina’s rich literary tradition. Most recently she facilitated author discussions for the Carolina K-12 Friday Teachers Retreat in Asheville. Prior to NCLR, she published the two issue print magazine and online blog Color of Fayetteville, sharing the stories of independent artists of all genres living in Cumberland County, NC. Her work has been published in newspapers, magazines, and online for Americans for the Arts and other arts-related blogs. She published Courting the Community: Promises and Realities of New Performing Arts Centers in Small and Medium Cities for her Masters in Arts Administration.
